OVERVIEW
We offer a memorable experience starting with a warm welcome at Juliaca airport and exploring the Sillustani archaeological complex. You will enjoy the local culture at the floating islands of the Uros and Taquile Island, as well as the impressive archaeological sites of Tiwanaku. You will experience the surreal Salar de Uyuni and conclude your trip in Copacabana, with a return to Puno, all in a tour that combines history, culture, and spectacular landscapes.
PUNO – BOLIVIA TOUR PACKAGE 6D/5N
DAY 1: JULIACA AIRPORT – SILLUSTANI – PUNO
Our guide will be waiting for you at Juliaca’s Inca Manco Capac Airport, holding a sign with the passenger's name. You will then board our vehicle heading to the Sillustani archaeological site. Once at the archaeological site, you will take a walk uphill to reach the funerary tower. Our guide will provide detailed explanations about the place, and you will see various Inca ruins; additionally, you will have the opportunity to admire the beautiful landscapes and the view of the Umayo Lagoon surrounding the funerary chullpas. After the tour, we will continue our journey to your hotel in Puno.
DAY 2: UROS FLOATING ISLANDS + TAQUILE ISLAND TOUR (Speedboat).
The tour begins at 7:00 a.m. with the pickup of passengers and transfer to the port of Lake Titicaca. The first destination to visit is the Uros floating islands, where we will take a speedboat departing at 7:30 a.m. and in 10 minutes we will arrive at one of the floating islands, where our guide will explain about its origin and the customs of its inhabitants who still maintain their original culture. After this visit, we will continue our journey to Taquile Island, where we will sail for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Upon reaching the second island, we will walk for 45 minutes along a path to reach the village of Taquile. In the village, we will have 30 minutes free to observe various textiles in the small island market, we will have lunch in a typical island restaurant, and then Taquile families will perform demonstrations of their customs and daily activities. After the visit, we will return to the port to board the boat back to the city of Puno. Arrival at the port is around 3:30 p.m., followed by transfer to hotels.
DAY 3: CHUCUITO – ARAMU MURU – TIAHUANACO – LA PAZ - UYUNI TOUR.
The day starts at 7:00 a.m. with the pickup of passengers from hotels in Puno and departure to Chucuito, visiting the fertility temple "Inca Uyo" and the main square of Chucuito. We then head to "Aramu-Muru or Hayu Marca" along the shores of Lake Titicaca. Once at Aramu Muru, we will visit the dimensional gate located amid rock formations, taking a short walk around this sacred place (45 min visit time). Upon reaching Desaguadero, the Peru-Bolivia border, we will complete the document procedures to enter Bolivia, and change vehicle and guide to continue our journey to Tiahuanaco (45 min drive). At 12:30 p.m. Bolivia time, we will visit Puma Punku and have lunch, followed by a visit to the Tiahuanaco Archaeological Complex, including the following attractions: the Gate of the Sun, the Akapana Fortress, and the Kalasasaya Temple. After the tour, we will head to La Paz, arriving around 6 p.m. Around 9:30 p.m. Bolivia time, we will depart by bus to Uyuni, approximately 7 to 8 hours of travel.
DAY 4: UYUNI – LA PAZ TOUR.
We wake up in Uyuni at 6:00 a.m., and our local operator will be waiting for you at Uyuni’s bus station to assist you. We begin the adventure to Salar de Uyuni at 10:30 a.m., visiting the train cemetery where we will see an open-air historical museum of the locomotives that once brought life to the town of Uyuni, located one kilometer away. We will visit Salar de Uyuni, and from the town’s departure, the landscape continuously amazes all the way to Colchani, where the local population works with salt, and during the visit, we will see a micro-salt refinery. We will also visit the market where salt crafts are sold, followed by lunch. We will visit Fish Island, a wonderful place amidst a white sea of tall cacti, some with over 100 years of life. After the meal, we will have time to explore the island and take 360-degree photos, stunning from the top. Continuing the tour through the salt flats until reaching the isolated area of Atulcha, where we will find a famous hotel built with salt blocks, including salt furniture. We have the afternoon free in Uyuni until 7:30 p.m. for the return to La Paz.
DAY 5: LA PAZ – COPACABANA - PUNO.
At 7 a.m., departure from La Paz to the town of Copacabana, crossing the Tiquina Strait; people will travel in a small boat and buses will use the ferry. We will then continue our journey to Copacabana, where you will have time for lunch. Continuing the journey to Puno, about 20 minutes. Arrival at the border and document procedures (20-30 min), then we will board the bus again to continue the journey to Puno, arriving approximately at 4 p.m. Where we will take you to your hotel.
DAY 6: PUNO – AIRPORT OR BUS STATION.
After breakfast at your hotel and according to your flight departure time, transfer from Puno to the airport or bus station.
